Where the genuine discounts are right now, by store
A big discount badge tells you nothing about which shops are actually cutting prices. This is a store-by-store read of the deals we track, built from the real price history rather than the advertised percentages. For each store we show how many quality deals it has running, how many of those are at the lowest price we have on record, and the median rand saving against the price the item usually sells at.
Right now 191 of the 206 quality deals we track are sitting at their lowest recorded price. Figures from 19 Jun 2026.
| Store | Quality deals | At record low | Median real saving | Deepest discount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| American Swiss | 55 | 43 | R501 | 54% |
| Sportscene | 48 | 48 | R370 | 60% |
| G-Star Raw | 41 | 41 | R600 | 50% |
| @home | 29 | 28 | R201 | 62% |
| Fabiani | 14 | 14 | R200 | 50% |
| Incredible Connection | 12 | 10 | R650 | 59% |
| Sneaker Factory | 7 | 7 | R200 | 68% |
How to read this
"At record low" is the column that matters most. A store can run a hundred deals and have almost none of them at a price you have not been able to get before. The median real saving is the rand difference between today's price and the price the item usually holds at, taken at the midpoint so a couple of extreme deals do not skew it. The deepest discount is the single best genuine drop we have on record for that store, not its biggest badge.
Why the badge is not enough
Two stores can both advertise "up to 70% off" and offer very different value. One has marked items down from prices they genuinely held last month. The other has lifted the was-price and left the selling price roughly where it always was. The only way to tell them apart is the history, which is what this table is built on.
How we put this together
We track prices at these South African retailers and keep the full history. The numbers here are counted from that record and refresh as prices change, so the table reflects what is genuinely on offer rather than a snapshot of marketing claims. Click any store to see its current deals, each with its own price chart and an honest read on whether the discount is real.
